I want to say something...

It's been a while since I've written anything because of the usual excuses of life that I won't bore you with. The planet is still spinning and time appears to be moving. 2025 in America seemed particularly unsettled. And although I have other ways to express myself in life, blogging best suits my need.

So I want to say something. But what? What do I want to say? What difference do I want to make? What difference will I make? What is the intent? Make more money? Get people to sign up for flight training? Hmmm...Yes, but why? Learning to fly, in my opinion, is the great equalizer. My politics, your politics, my religion, your religion, my background, your background, none of that makes a difference when learning to fly! No matter what your job was or is, doctor, lawyer, construction worker, office worker, retired, military, etc., when learning to fly, everyone starts at the beginning. Not to discourage anyone that wants to learn to fly, but if flying was as easy as learning to drive a car, then more people would be doing it. I assert, learning to move from the 3 dimensions of space to driving an airplane onto the 2 dimensions of the ground takes something that is not known or understood in the beginning. This doesn't mean that you can't learn it but that, like any new activity, learning to fly requires assimilating new knowledge and correlating that knowledge into practice. Everyone learns the same way migrating from a non-flyer to a flyer.

We start on equal footing, no special difference between us. The classroom of a cockpit typically is a crucible of learning that forces more focus than you would have in a normal classroom. Regardless of our past predilections, our politics, our religions, our gender, the small time of sitting in the cockpit learning to fly frees us, making us equal, loving what we are doing, passionate to be learning again, learning something new, excited for the future possibility of flying an airplane to destinations near and far away! Sitting next to you while you learn gives me the opportunity to be connected, equal in our desire and joy of flying that I so love! Thank you!

We're all equal, we're all the same, wanting to enjoy this world we live on, creating new possibilities of greatness for our lives and everyone around us! And that is the essence of becoming a pilot - equality, passion and adventure for all. I guess this is what I wanted to say!
